TEACHING EPHEMERA
For a couple years I had the pleasure of teaching in the Graphic Design undergrad department at OCADU. As students were returning from online teachings—we noticed a lack of excitement around material form & the potential of graphic design &
visual communication. Paz and I wanted to demonstrate that everything is a design project, instilling the sense that everything has an opportunity to be designed.
Tangentially, we noticed students struggling with keeping up with assignment expectations and requirements. This design problem led
to a collection of zines & ephemera made for several courses. Syllabi for the start of the course, and checklists for each assignment to ensure students understood expectations, and were, hopefully, inspired to see that even more mundane content can be designed.
